What I'll say at the Tea Party Convention" by Joseph Farah.

Snip

But as Washington's power and reach grew well beyond its constitutional restrictions, something happened.

It started to supplant God. It became an idol. It became a source of worship. Did you ever wonder why the U.S. government has become less and less friendly to God?

It's obvious to me now.

Competition.

The U.S. government doesn't want any competition. It doesn't want it from auto companies. It doesn't want it from health insurance companies. It doesn't want it from banks. It doesn't want it from private businesses of any kind. In fact, it doesn't even want it from self-governing individual Americans.

In other words, government wants to be your god – your one and only god.

And the God of the Bible – the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God who led the chosen people out of Egypt and the God who led them back into Israel in the last century – represents real competition.

After all, the God of the Christians and Jews says: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

That's His first commandment. And His second doesn't make Him any easier to swallow: Don't worship idols.

That's pretty much what the U.S. government has become for many Americans.

And God says: "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me."

You see, it's kind of a mutual aversion situation.

The impact is already being felt in America today, as government becomes godlike in the lives of so many citizens. We're paying a price for it – and will continue to pay a bigger price for it for generations.

Even many Christians don't see this yet. Most don't have their own priorities in life straight – not putting God first in their own lives. Too many Christians and Jews believe they are not to question government – wrongly thinking it is somehow unbiblical.

They fail to understand the day is coming when not only individuals will be judged by God, but nations as well – even rulers.

Psalm 110 spells it out in pretty graphic terms: "The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath. He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries."

No, that's not going to be a pretty sight. And if America were judged by that standard, it wouldn't fare well.

Unless, of course, we as a people change our ways.

But how?

The answer is simple.

You can find it in 2 Chronicles 7:14:

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Do you think we are capable of recognizing we are headed in the wrong direction? It's not just a matter of electing the right leaders. Our leaders are a judgment on us. We've got to get our spiritual priorities straight. We've got to recognize that our government is either a blessing or a curse on us.

Americans were blessed with some great leaders in the past – when our citizens understood the limitations of government and the fact that our all-just, almighty Creator has no limitations on his power.

Do you think we can find our way home before it's too late?

Don't wait for someone to lead you. Don't allow any politician or demagogue to hijack this beautiful movement.

Let's start taking America back right now.

Yep. That's why I posted it here. Methinks there's change in the wind in 2010 (finally).

One other thought. Remember when Obama bowed to the king of Saudi Arabia (and I think he bowed to a few other people as well i.e. the mayor of Tampa). Of course, he's a practicing Muslim (by his own admission) but somebody should remind him as he's spouting off about the glories of Islam and bowing all over the place:

The God of the Christians and Jews says: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." and also the second commandment "Don't worship idols" not even him.

I realize as a practicing Muslim that is anathema to him and he doesn't understand it but it bothers me because of the repercussions it can have on the United States.

Obama is a Muslim

is himself.

I truly believe he is so ignorant that he doesn't even realize how it looks to others for him to bow before so many.

True but I wonder how many of those who put him in office have come to realize it.

Which is why we need to continuously pray and repent before God for the sins of our country even, much like Daniel did for Israel when they came into captivity to man. Which is what I see as going on here right now, by men that desire to be God whether they realize that is what is going on being deceived, or not.

Also, We all need to be going and preaching the gospel to the lost and dieing world, which is what Jesus sent all believers to do, from the least to the greatest once we have become one of His disciples.

My husband and I was talking about these very things today. How that prayer sends God before us always to prepare the way for us to share Christ with others. For it is going to be this happening that will really make any kind of change in America if anything does. Meaning either evil or good is going to reign. \

But not only that, perhaps many Christian leaders today should be saying instead of sending me, their sending all beleivers to go instead? Because they have already been sent by God haven't they? Yet if you listen to most today arn't they constantly saying send me instead to the congregation they are ministering to?

Just something we were discussing. Along with what the greatest did do most of the time themselves, which is to do what Jesus told them to do in The last chapter and verses of Matthew, Mark and Luke. Their needing to do what Jesus told them to with those they are leading as well. Their jobs being to prepare all to go into the world and do the same thing.

That is what we see anyway. And therefore encourage everyone to do too.

Yet as Al says, if I do not send God before me, then no wonder I am not successful when I do go. Because I am then going without Him then instead. But if I pray asking Him to go before to prepare hearts, then He will already be there doing just that. Which is what is going to make the difference in the end anyway. As it is the Father that reveals the Son always, no matter what we say to them always according to Mt. 16:16.
