To See Jesus

The crowd was large
And Zacchaeus was small
His little legs ran to find
A towering tree so tall.

Up would be the only way
To see Jesus on that day
Zacchaeus, climbed upon a tree
And there his eyes did finally see.

Jesus was already aware
of the quiet , joyful stare
and looked up toward Zacchaeus
eye to eye - a perfect prayer.

A welcomed guest would Jesus be
in the house He came to save
a sinner who needed to be free
And lifted from the hand of the grave.

Luke 19: 9 And Jesus said unto him,
This day is salvation come to this house,
forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

Based on Luke 19:1-10

will be joined by us all one day.

Isaiah 33:17 Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.

Thanks for the poem and the thoughts it stirs within.

That would be me on Judgement Day... looking around for the Lord, trying to get up high enough. But I know he will lift me up to see His face.

Thank you for providing the ray of sunshine this morning. You always light the place up. Connie, too.... when she remembers to come by. Just a gentle tease, Sistah C. *-)
And not to forget Marge, Sandy and Kristy. I guess they peek in still, eh?
Bammy just got too busy with driving the bus to have much time for the puter anymore. Bill has been having health issues and his wife has been in and out of the hospital. Please remember them in your prayers, everyone.
Cecil will be starting some radiation treatments in a couple of weeks. Will appreciate continued prayer for him.
xoxo

Hi Dori. I think many times the Bible says the Lord gives grace to and lifts up the humble.

[Isaiah 57:15]:
15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

[Matthew 18:4]:
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

[Matthew 23:12]:
12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

[James 4:6]:
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

[James 4:10]:
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
