In reply to: Hillbilly 's message, "Genesis 22 vss 15-19 Post #118" on 19:34:21 10/31/09 Sat

This study is going to have me look
further today at other
"stars and sand " Bible passages .

Here are a few to reflect upon :
Stars

Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Psalm 147 : 4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

Daniel chapter 12 vs. 3 - And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.

Sand

Judah and Israel were many,
as the sand which is by the sea in multitude,
eating and drinking, and making merry.
1 Kings 4:20

20 Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,
21 Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not;
which have ears, and hear not:

22 Fear ye not me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

23 But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

24 Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the Lord our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
Jeremiah 5:20-24

"
God keeps His promises. Because of the promises
to Abraham Israel will have and enjoy that
which God gave them through Abraham.
"

I have often taught the Born Again are a heavenly people with a heavenly promise. (Stars)

The people of Israel, the Jews, are an earthly people with an earthly promise. (Sand)

We, who are of faith, are bound for New Jerusalem, the City of God which is situated at this time in the third heaven.

The Jews are to inherit the "Promised Land" within the boundaries as they were originally set forth by God.

While I also see the sand representing those who were descendants of Ishmael, in the broader sense I see it moreso representing all who walk by sight, as the Jews, and not by faith.

The stars represent those who walk by faith and can see the brightness of our Lord and not the detail. You see the light of the star but not the star itself. When we do get to our City of God we shall see the one who generates that light. Now we look through a glass darkly, but not for long.

And I am saving this to my word file...printing it out and tucking it into my Bible.

Thanks again , HB.

God bless you always,

Just when I think I have all these studies down pat and get a little smug about it, you two bring even more depth to them. I am in such awe!

I also am discovering something new all the time. God's Word is so complex and has so many things given in type that it's like a new discovery at every reading.

I am presently working on a thought I have had in the past but with a new twist. Just a new ligh on an old disocvery.

You can count on it.

To me it is an eye opener and disturbing. I am almost done with the Biblical references but I want to add some anecdotal secular references to.

I'm not fully decided but may do some art work and make another e-book from it.
