In reply to: Hillbilly 's message, "Genesis 22 vss 20-24 Post #119" on 19:02:56 11/15/09 Sun

All those names of the progeny of Milcah meant nothing to me, other than Rebekah, and their connection to Abraham and all of the info about Ham's being the second man to carry God's curse after Cain was also new to me.

Most of the genealogies in the Bible are very boring to me. I may read them (usually not remembering anything I read) but their usefulness for me comes in that name that sometimes makes a connection to something else in the Bible.

I didn't feel like pursuing it but some of those names during Abraham's time tie in with the Book of Job and lend credibility to it being the oldest book in the Bible.

Those genealogies are boring to me too. And those names...whew...Huz and Buz! Some difference in the names back in those days and the current day. Wonder when that change came about....after the flood maybe?

Well I could have referred to the other names but I couldn't pronounce them let-alone spell them. Thank goodness they got lost in antiquity...I think...giggle!

I wouldn't have ever known that if not for you. I think it's important to understand all the relationships between the names and the connections of events in different books to fully understand the WHOLE Book. Thank you so much for ANY insights that you feel led to share. We do learn from them all. I am going to catch up this afternoon on the Daniel study I haven't gotten to read. I have been so busy at work and not been online as much as normal. I have pretty much given up on most of the forums but here, Bill's and the Puppy Cam. I'm a moderator there and sometimes do get caught up in taking care of the board, but I do check in here 2 or 3 times a day to see if anyone's around. I want to get totally caught up this afternoon because GABE is coming tonight and I will be busy. Then I'm leaving for Atlanta Tuesday and won't be on much at that time, either.
In case I don't get a chance to say it until late--a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving to you and your precious family. Please give Dale and the twins hugs from that crazy auntie dori, will you?

Dale just got in with the twins. She picked them up at school this afternoon.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving also and I know you will have a wonderful time enjoying the company of Gabe.

Have a safe trip to Atlanta and we will look forward to your return after Thanksgiving.

God Bless,
Dwight
