I'll certainly try to see what he says on those two subjects. I haven't watched them yet but plan to do so next Sunday. Too much other stuff to catch up on...grin...and I like to be able to sit back and relax and digest them. I've never heard about the lion with wings being Babylon. Wanna let me know what that theory says?

The reasoning behind the first beast (lion with eagles wings) is that Nebuchadnezzar was the head of gold in chapter two. He wound up as a beast with a beasts heart until 7 times passed over him. He then came to his senses and got heart as a man back and praised God.

In chapter 7 which we are currently studying the scripture says in verse 4; "The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it."

Oliver Greene is one who makes the first beast Babylon. John Walvoord is another. W.A.Criswell is anothre who makes the vision of chapter 7 the same as the vision in chapter 2.

The reason it won't work as I stated is that Daniel had the vision in the first year of Belshazzar the last king of Babylon. In verse 17 of chapter 7 the angel clearly states to Daniel the 4 beasts are 4 kings which shall arise out of the earth thus excluding Babylon.
