There are some fab beaches on the island. We have had three very happy holidays there. We stayed at Lefkos, after reading the reviews on here. Follow the road through the village, as far as you can. You end up going up a hill towards a hotel that looks out over the bay (sorry, the name eludes me). Anyway, just as the road turns towards it, there is a track that takes you further around the coast, and a series of tiny, delightful bays. The best are almost at the end, where there are coves just large enough to be comfortable...

We also went to the far south, close to the airport. As you drive around the perimeter, and the road turns away along the coast, there is a track that takes you between the airport and the sea. A number of opportunities along this stretch.

We also went to Kat Lakos, and it is described on the Captains site, but the road is one of the worst I have ever attempted. The beach is worth it, but if you are at all nervous I would give it a miss!

Agias Minas is another beach that needs a steady driver to get to, but is well worth all the effort too. And this has the added advantage of a good taverna as well. Hell of a drive though.

Sadly I would give Amoupi a miss though. We tried to find a nude opportunity, but the place was over-run with grockles when we were there.

It is a beautiful place to visit, and worth all the effort that it takes to get there. If you intend to try Ag Minas, or Kato Lakis, make sure you get a 4X4, and the same goes for a trip up to Olymbos as well.

Have agreat time, I would love to go back.....

P.S. Let us know how you get on (and where you stayed!)
