This pageant is going to be filled with big name kids. There will be tough competition there. So, if you are wanting some real competition, then give it a try. If you are looking for an easy win, then look somewhere else. -- As for the winners already being decided-- I don't think that is true. Either it's rigged or it's not and my money's on NOT! What makes you think I don't know anything about glitz? Maybe because my daughter isn't total glitz? I chose to have my daughter at the level she is! I don't want to force my daughter to do anything she doesn't want to. She doesn't want to practice and work, so we go for fun not for the win! HAHA, I was the only pageant mom judging SD. So your comment MUST be directed at me, but guess what I had nothing to do with the outcome. One of the other judges and I scored exactly the same, and the third judge was the deciding factor! The mom of the young lady talked to me after the pageant because she had be told I was rooming with the other person. We were 4 floors a part, and I was by myself for that very reason. When I talked to the mom she realized that I had signed my score sheet and I wasn't the judge who made a difference. -- And I don't do favortism! It has nothing to do with the pageant director, expo or even the judges. There will always be someone who does not agree with the judging at ANY pageant. In any case, if this is the pageant I am thinking of that particular judge who disagreed with the two "pageant mom" judges who had the same scores was actually the highest qualified judge there who is a long-term expert in the field and has judged many national level pageants for HUGE pageant systems. I have a son who competes and he's only been in 3 other pageants. Before we make the lengthy trip, I just wanted to see if he would have a chance. Most pageants are fair. Just because someone does't agree w/ the judging does not make it fixed. Moms always think their kids did better than the judges thought they did because the judges are not their MOMS. Don't let anonymous bashers make your decisions for you. If they had anything legitimate to say they would not have to come here & post their gossip anonymously. This is a forum for people who do NOT have any justification for it but who want to hurt people anyway. If it helps any - most pageants only have a handful of boys entered at all, if that many. Boys are not generally held to the same standard girls are (as far as coaches, photos & etc.) If this pageant has boys & girls compete separately then he would only be competing with other boys & very few boys in Texas have pageant coaches so you might have as good as shot as any.
