Actually, I did see a few people answer on the TX board. Anyhow, I think you would enjoy Expo and learn a lot. However, personally I wouldn't go in with high expectations because we went last year to expo, Queens of USA even, as our very first pageant in a dress similar to what you're describing and came in dead last. It was probably a combination of not knowing how to model, bad hair/makeup by Mom (LOL!) and wrong dress. This isn't to discourage you but you wanted the truth! LOL! No matter when/where/how your first pageant is, I think most would agree you'll make a lot of mistakes. It's just part of the learning process. Good luck and have a great time!

Yes I did get one reply on the TX Board but nothing like this! Thanks lady's for all the input. I am not a newbie to pageants, she is, and ofcourse each state has different systems and expectations. I always think the girl "wins" if she does her best not matter what so I do expect this 8 year old to "win" and that means doing her very best no matter what the outcome. I don't care if she crowns or not I just want her to feel good about herself and enjoy being beautiful inside and out. That will be hard if she's not even on the same level due to the dress. But I just can't see spending the money if she really doesn't have fun and enjoy it. But by not letting her at least try I feel I'll be holding her back. I hope others have been stuck between this rock and hard place too.....?
