Subject: The honest truth is that it depends which pageant you enter. If you enter a glitz pageant then part of the score IS based on whether the gown is in the right style, color, hem length, designer, quantity of stones and all of that. If you enter a natural pageant like All American Family the clothes won't count at all as long as they fit well & look well on her. If you enter Queens of the USA clothes won't count for much either. But ask the director of each pageant what they are looking for & you'll get the BEST answers.

[> [> I think the trend is starting to change. You are seeing more and more pageants that have less scoring on the actually clothes and more on the child. You can now do pageants that have sunday type dresses and casualwear pageants and still enjoy pageantry without having lots of money invested in your wardrobe. -- No name, 13:41:47 04/25/02 Thu

[> [> [> I don't know about the trends in child pageants but it has changed drasticaly in the Miss and teen divisions. Haven't you noticed the lack of beading and more glamorous flowing - unpretenious styles? -- Great point - I hope it continues, 13:50:09 04/25/02 Thu
