Subject: Regurgitator

I'm working on the regurgitator, trying to figure out what it does, but no dice so far. Thusly I've added things to the regurgitator in the following ways:

rat + lemon + acid
acid + lemon + rat
acid + rat + lemon

And, of course, flicking the switch. Each time, Snooky takes all the stuff and tells me I shouldn't play with what I don't understand. I'm about ready to kill the fellow for that coat he's so fond of (no to mention the black teddy he has on underneath)! Should I keep on changing stuff around until I do the other three possible combinations (and get acid/cockroaches/etc on me as I re-search for more blue acid)? Or is there something I'm missing here? A hint, please!
