Subject: An Australain McGinniss

I have stumbled upon these pages and it has me thinking. My father Michael McGinniss migrated to Australai from Londonderry (NIre) in the 1920s. HE had a brother named William McIniiss who went to Canada- I understand he spelt his name MCGUINNESS. There was another brother James whom I was fortunate to meet in Irealnd before his death in 1993. He spelt his name McGinnis. So yes, the variations are all so close- this obsession with spelling is no doubt a modern imposition!
I would love any contact with others of the McGinni' clan. Esp any canadian or US connections. My fathers parents were William McGinniss and Catherine Mullen. He owned a pub in Derry- I have some of the pottery bottles from his own brewery. anyway, enough- look forward to further exploration. Plese feel free to contact me for whatever reason
