Subject: Who'll replace Angle?

I'm assuming you've all heard that Kurt Angle is out of wrestling for up to a year due to his neck injury. This couldn't have come at a worse time for WWE as his much hyped match vs Brock Lesnar was going to blow us all away at Wrestlemania. The latest I've heard is that Kurt will brave out one more match before going for surgery. This is to be against Lesnar on Smackdown for the title. I'm assuming Lesnar will win and carry the title into 'mania but the question remains, who will he face?

HHH is out of the reckoning as he is world champion and title vs title wouldn't make sense.

It would be bad booking to cancel the Rock vs Stone Cold match in favour of giving either man a title shot. In any case Rock doesn't deserve it. And there's not enough time to hype a SCSA vs Lesnar feud now with just over 3 weeks to WM19. Anyhow both men are faces at the moment.

Hogan? No way Vince is going to drop their match. Anyway, face.

Chris Benoit springs to mind as a man who more than deserves another title shot. But again he's a face.

WWE have been in negotiation with Sting and Goldberg lately but havn't been able to agree terms yet. A promise of a title shot for either man may close the deal. However would either man get the necessary heel heat to get this match over? Don't think so.

The only option I can think of is to turn Lesnar heel before 'mania. I know he's mega-over as a face at the moment but you could play it out like this...

In the Angle vs Lesnar match scheduled for Smackdown have Kurt come to the ring accompanied by Team Angle. Haas, Benjamin, Big Show and Heyman, hell, maybe A-train too. Lesnar seems wary of all five men at all times during the match. Angle is extra cocky because he has their backing. A couple of minutes in to the match (and it has to be quick because of Angles injury) There is some interferance by one of the members of Team Angle, let's say Big Show. He takes a swipe from outside at Lesnar but Lesnar dodges it and pulls Angle over to take the full force of the blow. Lesnar covers Angle for two. Kurt regains his feet and gives Show a look of disbelief. Show is all apologies amid looks of contempt from Team Angle and voicferous insults (you idiot, That could've been it! etc) from Heyman. The match continues for another coulple of minutes until, lo and behold, the ref takes a bump, probably due to more outside interferance from Team Angle. Kurt turns to his troops and calls them into the ring. All members take to the ring and face Lesnar who takes a "bring it on" type pose and backs into a corner. Looking from one member of Team Angle to the next he suddenly starts smiling, straightens up and looks in the direction of Kurt. Team Angle slowly turn around to face their leader and proceed to hand out a vicious beating. Damage done, they leave he ring. Lesnar brings the ref around to count the three.
After the match Heyman and Lesnar embrace as Heyman welcomes Brock back in to his charge.

The reason for the turn by Team Angle? Haas and Benjamin were pissed at Kurt for being their leader. They felt they didn't need him anymore and that they could further their careers by getting rid of him.
Big Show was still pissed off at losing the title to Angle. Revenge is a dish best served cold.
A-Train got involved because he's Heyman's bitch (a muscle bound, hairy bitch. But a bitch nonetheless). I guess you could play it that Team Angle needed all the muscle they could muster so they turned to A-Train.
And Heyman masterminded the turn because he didn't believe Angle could defeat Lesnar one on one. He wantd to remain manager of the Heavyweight Champion so he did a deal with Lesnar. Referring to their (Angle and Lesnar's) varying success at amateur wrestling, he convinced Lesnar that he didn't have what it took to defeat an olympic gold medallist one on one. But that with his (Heyman's help) he (lesnar) could be champ again.

This will leave WWE with alot of options for the main event of WM19.
Anyway It's just an idea. What do you guys reckon?
