I couldn't believe it when Angle retained vs Brock on Smackdown. I hadn't read any spoilers or even looked at the internet since Tuesday. So when Smakdown aired here on Saturday I was still fully expecting Angle to lose. But I DID know something was up when the first Angle (a) wore a robe to the ring and (b) didn't take down the hood. I had a pretty good idea it was Eric Angle even before Brock laid into him and knew what was coming as Angle used the same ploy to defeat the Undertaker in his (Angles) first reign as champion.
All that said I hope all goes well for Angle at 'mania. I'm looking forward to his match now more than ever. It's not going to be as good as it could be due to limitations of the moves they can do but my bet is it will be a match to remember for years to come.
If he loses his title there it's likely that will be the last time we see him on TV for a long time. WWE writers will probably come up with some line about him being badly injured at the hand's of Lesnar to allow him time off for surgery and then recovery. If Angle does lose I hope the fans give him a standing ovation when he leaves the ring. He sure as hell deserves it... as well as the $350,000 or so he is reportedly getting for the match!
