Fair enough. Your right, I don't know the score at Iona. Only my limited and uninformed observations from the outside. I didn't mean to imply otherwise. If your putting out the word on Iona for the well being of a recruits sake alone then that's cool. Your opinion about your bad experience may benefit someone else in the future. I think it is easy to throw stones when you don't know the whole story, so I hope I didnt come across that way.
As for the deal with Coach Gautier and FSU, I am not sure I know what you are implying, but will grant you the same courtesy you have extended me by pointing out that an outside view is a limited one. I was happy for him that he was going to move onto a bigger school like FSU and I was happy that he decided not to go. I endorse kids going to chattanooga all of the time and think it is a great place. I had an awesome experience, loved it, graduated with my undergrad and my masters and am now back home working and still running. I would make the same coice to go there if I did it all over again.
I think those two points (good job/still enjoy running) are the most crucial for a school in the US. Can a kid go there and 4 or 5 years later come back to Canada and get a good job with the degree they have earned and have the desire to still run and not be turned off or burned out. I'm not going to the olympics, breaking records, or even winning nationals and have no delusions of doing those things, but I still love to run and love to race and that is why I started running and why I went to the states for the chance to do that more.
Anyhow, point taken, I hope wherever nigel goes he enjoys it and kicks ass. End of story, I'm glad we had this little talk.
