Subject: We need to speak out

The athletics program in this country is going to hell and Athletics Canada and the Government is doing very little to help. With the exception of a few extremely talented athletes, who would shine in the darkest of lights, we will soon see a repeat of the 2000 Olympics and the 2001 World indoors. If
Athletics Canada does not start investing in our young athletes developing programs, we will continue to have poor performance. For the juniors who are going to World Cross look around and see how little support we truly get from our government and governing body. It's enough to make you sick. What I'm saying should not be a surprise to any of you but I hope it sparks something and gets the ball rolling in
the right direction. I also feel it is up to us to create an interest in our sport for "Joe Public,� if this means sparking rivalries and talking with more confidence when asked about our sport, so be it, we need to create an interest, we need the public�s support. Please post any thoughts and maybe someone who can make difference will see.
