Observer, you have raised a good point. The 1500 is the glory event and 5k's hurt if your not doing your mileage. That is part of the reason guys aren't running 5k. Running a 3:52 1500 and a 14:39 5000 are pretty equal times yet a 3:52 in Canada ranks about 55th and a 14:39 ranks about 20th. Your right when you say there should be more guys running faster over 5k because the talent level is there.
