Why the ban? Four issues come to my mind. First is the disruption of the room; Second is the bashing; Third is the ignore command and the Fourth is asking to be permanently banned.
We all have been guilty of disrupting the room. In the past nothing had been done to stop either unwanted popups or excessive flooding. We have let popups and flooding occur to allow everyone the ability to express themselves. Most of us have used restraint and recognized that there are others in the room that may not find our mindless endless expressions as amusing.
One of the rules of the Server is No Flooding. Endless mindless flooding was occurring in October and November. Several chatters used the ignore command for days and weeks but it wasn’t helpful long-term. Zara was requested by numerous other regulars in the room and, as required by the Sever, to take action. Zara did NOT prohibit flooding. Zara tried to find a compromise. Zara’s compromise was to limit the amount of flooding so that all could still enjoy the room and those that wanted to could still express themselves. Why did Zara limit the floods? Because the flooding was out of hand and was disrupting the room.
Bashing – Should bashing be allowed? if so; How much should be allowed? If a newbie were to come into Sweettalk and started to tell other chatters including regulars to go fuck themselves, go get fucked or say the room is fucked up, depending on the OP in the room at the time, they would either be warned or banned. If the newbie had been warned but continued with the bashing they would be banned. Plain and simple.
In the particular case of Foxy and Ksjo the bashing was done by regulars. Because they were regulars they were not initially banned. Instead, after numerous bashings, they were confronted and asked if they had a problem. They stated they didn’t have any problems with the room or Zara yet they turned right around and bashed the room and Zara again behind her back.
The night Foxy & Ksjo were banned Foxy was again confronted by Zara. Foxy admitted in the room that she previously said that the “room is fucked up” and “Zara can go fuck herself”. Yet Foxy again said she didn’t have a problem with Zara or the room. Oh please… enough is enough. It’s simple. If you don’t like the room, how the room is run or a particular regular just leave. If you want to continue to bash the room, an OP, a newbie or other regulars just for the fun of stirring the room expect to be banned.
If you want to continue to habitually disrupt the room and annoy other chatters, expect to be banned even if you are a regular. Others also participated in excessive popups and the flooding, but had the maturity, the respect for other chatters and the elegance to stop when it wasn’t funny anymore. Because of Ksjo & Foxy we now have stupid rules. Because of them we have division. Because of them we had chatters leaving. Enough is enough.
The ignore command works great for those that exercise that command. However, for some reason it does not always work for those chatters that are using JAVA. Also, even if one invokes the ignore command it STILL DOES NOT stop the disruption of the room. Excessive popups or flooding continues and it continues disrupting the room. The ignore command is NOT an “end all” solution.
Zara has donated hundreds of hours of her time for the benefit of Sweettalk chatters and its website. Many of us don’t see the time everything takes. I have. Zara doesn’t get paid for her time. Zara doesn’t get paid for any links we click on to help boost the Sweettalk ratings enticing more newbies. Her reward is seeing everyone’s enjoyment and seeing a full room. Zara deserves our thanks and our respect. You don’t have to agree with her… you don’t have to like her… but at the very least, if you have a problem, respect her enough to discuss it with her in private not behind her back. She does things in the open and now she’s taking the heat for those bans and, is being questioned by some people who don’t have all the information or even have enough courage to sign their nicks on their post.
I’ve seen the crap that Zara goes through to keep ST going. And that is why I support the bans. Personally, I prefer that the bans had not happened but, in my opinion, they were warranted and I prefer that the bans are not lifted. I feel the room is nicer and less disruptive now.
Foxy/KG said she didn't care if she got banned: [01:24] go ahead ban me I really could care less and, hope its a perm on too (sic). She didn’t seem to care! Why should YOU care now??? Why was Foxy and Ksjo banned? I hope that is not still a question.
