Subject: Quincy chasing unique double

Steve 'Quincy' Adams is rapidly closing in on a unique double, previously considered beyond him. Steve already holds the alltime Zeds record of 15 consecutive matches won, achieved in 1998. But the other half of the Double, 14 consecutive losses held by Terry McGovern since 1989 has always appeared out of reach to Steve. Up until 2001 Steve had never lost more than 3 in a row. But this year a more determined Steve has pushed his tally of consecutive losses to 7, with apparantly plenty more to come.

I find that statitistic incredible. Quincy must be very close to the drop zone, or has someone being playing fast and loose with the team selection criteria? And how about a 'Zeds Book of Records' page for the website? You know the type of thing; longest, shortest, streaks, etc. I'm sure that would be of interest. I know it would to me, but then I am a bit of an anorak.

Yes, Cyberzed, desperate times call for desperate measures, and as the Zeds are now firmly in the relegation dogfight zone every game must be regarded as a cup final. From now on the rotation policy of giving everyone a chance is suspended and the best 8 available players will play each week, until we are safe from relegation.

In my opinion the best 8 Zeds are:- in playing order

Steve Adams
Steve Sanders
Jimmy Carney
Alan Engledow
Warren Bennett
Tony Pointer
John Runghen
Keith Bryant

with my good self as 9th man and 1st reserve

By playing order I meant the order in which they play. CyberZed plays Number 8, doesn't mean he's 8th best player.

How about a small wager, Dutch. If Zeds avoid relegation you'll rejoin us next season. If we don't and fall through the trapdoor into Division One we'll supply all your shampoo requirements next season.

I may scrap my plans and take you up on that, Captzed.

At the moment i'm just enjoying my break from the game, chilling and of course watching England bringing the World Cup home.

On the 29th June,I will be trying my luck at the Ilford comp as i have a comp at Kentish Town the next day. Just got to spend some time brushing the cob webs off my cue first.

Cyber are you suggesting a sort of Tibetan Book of the Zeds
detailing the achievements of the cult pool team and its members.

I hope you realise the can of worms or pandora's box you might be opening here, there are those with long memories and detailed records. You might not like what you find.

Or there again, you might.

Hmmm, on reflection perhaps there are some things best left alone. I think I'll leave the decision to the good offices of CaptZed.
