Zedfan - get your own name, Capt Zed speaking here, for the first time on this forum. Of course Rob Gould is a quality player, particularly at old EPA rules, but his commitment has always been suspect. If Dutch is looking for a team to go to Champion of Champions, then I doubt if the Crown is the right choice. 1stly they are likely to be in 1st Division next season, assuming the Zeds get it together. And the only way a Div 1 team can qualify is by winning Cup. However the Zeds have an excellent chance of qualifying, even if we lose Cup-Final, apparantly the Larks aren't playing next year, so the Zeds would be B&D representatives win or lose. Therefore the Zeds are currently favourites to go to 2003 Champ of Champs, and will have two possible routes for 2004. The Crown can't possibly go 2003, and are extremely unlikely 2004.

On a personal note, Dutch is probably the player I would most like to have back in the Zeds, as a player and as a bloke, and if he were to rejoin us I think we could dominate B&D and the pool world. I believe we have a stronger team than when he left, with Jimmy Carney, who will surely be a better player than current results show, and Tony and John now blossoming into true Premier standard players along with the old guard, including our resident World Champion. I think we are only one quality player short of a championship challenging side, and Dutch could be that player. But time will tell.

Here here, Zedfan, aint sure who you are, but lay off the slagging off!!!

Anyway thank you capt for the compliment on the establishing of myself as a premier player, as for the dutch, i dont think you are alone as a zed who would love to have him back, i have said myself that i think we should make a strong attempt to get him back next year, and like you said capt, he could be that missing piece in the jigsaw, that could lead us to B&D glory next year, as well as champ of champs glory, so do what you can, you have the zeds backing, and dutch, your more than welcome back!
