I've had the same problem as described by everyone else.
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one. I have contacted Yahoo and they told me they're having problems with the new Yahoo Messenger.
At first, they told me I had corrupt files and to remove it and download it again. I did and that DIDN'T work.
Below is a copy of e-mails I received from them on 9/16 and 9/17.

Maybe if everyone would write to them at messenger-help@yahoo-inc.com, things would move along.
For me, this has been an ongoing problem since before the summer.
I have found a way to work around it though. When the Ypager error message comes up, click Ignore 6 times and it will go away. It has worked for me so far.
