Yeah - it would be unpopular and expensive to restore the railway - for a start a short tunnel would need to be built at Bourne End as there is a new business park in the way. Bourne End to Loudwater is ok but after that major engineering work would be needed to complete the line to Wycombe. Is it worth it? Yes. If only the track hadn't been ripped up - local councils would have saved millions.

I don't buy the 'light railway/tram system either - the trains must be part of the rail network. LR and trams only work in the suburbs of cities.

I have some great links to photos of the train line going from Bourne End right though to Wycombe if anyone is interested but as my "clicky fun" thread shows - web links don't seem to work in this forum!
