If anyone has contact with Mr. John Sweeny President of the AFL-CIO please
forward this message to him.
Dear Mr. Sweeny:
My name is James Mahoney I have been a member of TWU for over fifteen years and a Union member for longer than that. In all my years as a dues paying Union member I have never witnessed the death of a local. That is what is about to happen to TWU Local 100. You see Sonny Hall has allowed a drive, by his subordinate officers, to split Local 100 bus drivers from the rest of the Union. The only people who would benefit from such a split are the present officers in the bus divisions. As you know several of our Union officers have been ordered to pay back questionable charges on their credit cards. They fear and rightfully so that they may not maintain a majority vote in our up coming elections so rather than face the entire membership they would rather form their own little world.

I understand your dad was a Mabstoa bus operator, well my grandfather was a motorman do you think they would have went along with the idea that smaller is better. Mr. Sweeny I'm asking for your help in keeping my Union together. So you are not misled I must point out that I am a bus operator and part of the opposition and am running for Vice President in Mabstoa on the New Directions Slate.
