The City and People of Grel

These are very practical people. Originally a small commune of monks, they split from the city state of Chaleu Lex about 150 years ago because they had grown tired with the greed and passion rampant all over the city. They traveled for 4 months before settling down and starting their new city. This was a very difficult time for the �pilgrims�, but they were practical people and took care of each other and made the journey with very little loss of life. They believe in merging mind with body, for that is both practical and efficient. A culture of monks, they believe in law, order, and efficiency. Now, 150 years later, the practical commune of Grel has grown to about 400 or 500 people. Their religion is based on the Seven Sacred Scrolls of Sa, the first of them to conceive of the "pilgrimage".

These people are very practical and love items that can do more than one job. The favored weapon of the city militia is the ax since it can be used in battle and used, if needed, to cut tree and firewood. All people in this city know how to read and write the language, even farmers. These are practical people and prize intelligence. Their favorite sayings are �work smarter not harder� and �use your head before your hands�. All Grel know how to use a quarterstaff and bow. All Grel children are taught the useful herbs around the area and taught how to hunt with the bow and to defend themselves with the quarterstaff.

While not all Grel are monks, most of them are, and humans from Grel may consider the monk as a preferred class in regards to multiclassing.
