I like the idea, and yet I do not. Somehow, saying "There are good wizards, and there are bad wizards," doesn't appeal much to me (I am still not a big fan of the alignment system). Wizards are people. Some things they do will be seen by others as evil or questionable, while other things are seen as good and appropriate. Labeling them and making them wholly good or wholly evil, while nice and simplistic, doesn't appeal to me.

On the other hand, it does appeal to me because that is a standard found in fantasy literature of all sorts. It makes it clear who are the good guys and who are the bad guys and leaves out a lot of moral dilemmas that could otherwise crop up.
