Ever wondered how people can control their pulse by the power of their mind? Obviously, there are relaxation techniques which can slow the pulse, and thinking "sexy" thoughts will speed it up.

But some people appear to be capable of slowing the pulse to a barely susceptible beat within a few seconds, at any time - and can even maintain different beats in either arm!

Is this the result of years of meditative practice? No. Actually the trick is an exceedingly simple one which anyone can do, with little or no practice. The simple secret is to conceal a squash ball or simular object wedged under each armpit.

By squeezing the ball, the main artery into your arm is constricted, slowing the pulse in that arm. By maintaining a slow beat in each arm, you can also create the illusion of speeding the pulse up - in both arms, or just one.
