Subject: Once in a lifetime combat workshop for actors and opera singers

After the huge success of the 10 day combat workshop in Amsterdam Italy is to be won over next. This August a month long Stage & Screen Combat Workshop is organized in the Ducal Castle located at Urbania, north-east Italy. A unique chance to take in the art of stage fighting guided by a prestigeous faculty amongst which Tony Wolf, Cultural Styles Designer of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Other teachers are Tim Klotz, Fight Director from Brittain, Ran A. Braun Opera & Action Director and Roderik Sommerdijk, fight director, both from the Netherlands. The workshop include BADC certification exams.

The workshop is one of the most extensive training programs around. It is the only one teaching the ‘new school’ of stage combat. Tony Wolf will teach his system of principles for stage fighting which is universally applicable. Fighting unarmed, with swords, daggers and rapiers are all included. Additionally, choreography and interpretations of historical material will be explored. Singers will have the chance to work with a diverse group of vocal coaches.

The workshop will take participants from the very basics of stage combat to a public exam. Participants will be filming combat and performing on stage. Upon succesfull completion of tests participants will receive an internationally recognized BADC certificate and a certification in Italian or English.

Actors
The workschop is not only targetted to theatre actors, but also for cinema and television actors and qualified interpreters of historical productions. In previous workshops stunt men, martial artists, mimes and dancers also found the teachings of ‘new school’ stage combat very compelling.

Opera Singers
The workshop includes individual vocal training for vocalists by Italian and international coaches as well as daily Italian launguage courses with special emphasis upon the correct pronunciation in word and song.

Location
The location for the stage & screen combat workshop is the enchanting Ducal Castle at Urbania, north-east Italy. The schedule with its Italian or English language course and balanced free time included is aimed at giving participants the chance to suck up the best of the Italian life style and culture and promisses to be a once in a lifetime experience.

In July a spin off Baroque opera workshop takes place at the same location.
