LOL! I love your last line ... I love my dh dearly - we've been together for more than half of our lives, but there ARE those weeks where I'd like to send him away - haha!

As for him taking the kids somewhere, this is only the 2nd time he's done this for a longer period of time. Heck, he won't even take them to the store by himself; although he will take them hiking at the local park. He always wants us to do stuff together as a family on the weekend and I just want some "alone" time. I know that both of our desires are an expression of what has been lacking all week long - he's been away from the family for the major portion of Mon-Fri and I've been 24/7 with the kids and dh. He wants family stuff and I want QUIET :-)

I think it's good for my dh to see how the kids behave on a 24 hour basis - he always comes home more appreciative of my ability to deal with them on so many levels and with so many different issues. I always feel more refreshed after being away from everybody and am usually more willing to get back to the daily grind and I end up enjoying my family more, too - I appreciate them for who they are and what they add to my life.

Kris
