We were supposed to start hs on June 17, but the kids and I couldn't wait- we started June 3! We will be doing week 3 this week, we took a week vacation after week 1 since my husband got that week break from school. It rained 3 days last week (sunny FL!) and all weekend, so we filled in what we couldn't do outside with discussions and reading related books together. We are having so much fun, except when my 6 y/o princess decides she isn't going to do it (usually writing ANYTHING and math.) She still thinks the world revolves around her, so she takes longer to finish sometimes.
As far as the games after school, how come I didn't think of that?? I usually tell them TV (only until 6:00), because I cook dinner. But if they finish early enough, games, then cook. Thanks!
As far as alone time, sometimes on the weekends I send my hubby out with his friends or brother, put the baby down at 8 (as usual), put the girls in thier room with movies and clean snack (cheese, grapes, carrots, and water) and tell them I need quiet time. I could never get him to take all the kids somewhere and still come home sane! Besides, I go through withdrawels when I go without my kids more than a day. Maybe just send my hubby away for a week?
Blessings,
Anita
