Subject: CANDIED HAM AND YAM

4 small yams(or sweet potatoes), washed and pierced with a for
2 smoked ham steaks,each 1 inch thick
Ground cloves
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
Pineapple spears
1 teaspoon honey

Preheat broiler.Arrange yams in a circle on a microwave-safe plate.
Microwave on high for 15 minutes.

While yams are cooking,cut ham steaks in half and sprinkle with ground
cloves.Place ham steaks on a broiler pan that has been sprayed with
non-stick cooking spray.Broil 4 inches from source of heat for 8 minutes,
turning once.Spread one side with brown sugar,brown for one minute,turn;
spread other side with brown sugar,turn.Serve with pineapple spears that
have been brushed with honey,and yams.
