Subject: Bratwurst Fritters in Beer Batter

6 bratwurst sausages
1/2 cup(125 mL)flour
2 eggs
Pinch each,salt and sugar
1/2 teaspoon(2 mL)baking powder
1/2 cup(125 mL)beer
Vegetable oil,for frying

Serves 6 as appetizer

1.In a skillet,simmer sausages in water until done;cool; slice to =
finger
thickness at an angle.Set aside.

2.In a bowl,blend remaining ingredients except vegetable oil to mak=
e a
thick batter;add flour if watery.Heat about a finger of oil (enough=
to
float the fritters)in a heavy frypan.

3.Dip sausage slices in batter to coat well;fry until crisp and gol=
den
brown.Dry on paper towels.Serve with mustard.
