Subject: PECAN CHEWIES

3 cups broken pecan pieces
1 cup raisins
1 1/2 cups flour,divided
1 stick butter
1 lb.light brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp.vanilla
2 tsp.baking powder
1/4 tsp.salt

In a bowl combine pecans and raisins and then dredge them in 1/2
cup flour.Cream butter and sugar together until light,then add eggs
and vanilla.Combine one cup flour baking powder and salt. Sift this
into the wet mixture gradually,mixing well.Add pecans and raisins.
Pour into a greased 8 or 9-inch square pan.Bake at 275 degrees for
45 minutes or longer.Cut into squares to serve.
