Bei den älteren HDDs kommt es oft auch auf den Hersteller an, nicht alle Toshibas z.B. funktionieren. 2. Installieren darfst du WIN nur innerhalb des nackten TP, (von HDD oder CD-ROM ist egal) also nicht mit einem Dock und auch nicht im Desktop. 3. Aus was für einer Maschine ist die 2.1 GB und was war vorher im Caddy drin und ist er modifiziert? 4. Das mit der Startdiskette ist manchmal hakelig, manchmal muss man verschiedene Versionen kreuzen zwichen WIN98 und WIN95. 5. Das unterschiedliche Verhalten unter DOS und WIN ist schon etwas rätselhaft, aber lass doch mal die CD-ROMS zunächst ganz raus. 6. Versuchst du WIN98 oder WIN98SE zu installieren? WIN98 ist Schrott auf jedem Rechner und SE ist etwas zu schwer für die alten Maschinen mit dem VESA-Bus. Besonders wenn du nur 90MHz hast, ist WIN95 OSR2 viel besser.
