Date Posted: 10:13:26 07/24/02 Wed In reply to: Jason 's message, "Engine Mods - Bang for the Buck" on 09:04:52 07/24/02 Wed Since mine is still under warranty, I'm not planning on doing any mods yet on the engine. But if I lived in a much warmer climate, I would probably do the lower Thermostat first. I like the cold air intakes but I off-road where there is alot of water crossings so I'm probably not going to do those. As for the TB spacer, I thought the Vortec engines do that already(hence the name Vortec). I saw a link somewhere that explains what the Vortec engines do. So for my Mods, probably an exhaust(cat back) first, then thermostat(first if I lived in warmer climate), then work from there. Cheers, Con >Guys with motor mods - How about a listing of mods you >would recommend for us just starting out? What are the >top 5 or 10 mods you would make? ie: cold air intakes, >TB spacer, IAT relocator, 180 deg Thermostat...... You >guys have the benefiet of hind-sight. Thanks.
