Here's how I would describe their sounds: smooth, with no hum or noise whatsoever. The overall sound that came from the guitar (which I imagine owes as much to the strings, body composition, and technique of player as the pickups) was the roundest, fullest sound I'd ever heard from a guitar. It still had a bit of that "cold" sound that strats are known for, and string attacks definitely yielded a punchy-poppy sound (although that may have something to do with the nearly non-existent action). I couldn't believe the sustain from such a setup. I hope this amateurish description helps.

I'm really amazed that Vigier isn't a bigger name in the luthier business. Not a single person in any of the music/guitar stores in Cental New York seems to have heard of them.

And a thousand thanks for posting the Musician article. I've waited a LONG time to read that!

PS- Does everyone say "I'm going to enjoy watching you die, Mr. Anderson" to you? I'm in a Matrix mood, and I've just been dying to use that line (as a joke of course), but I don't want it to be the 8,000th time you've heard it.
