i can pick 4 and 8 notes per string, using "only" wrist motion, at over 260... its an exercise i always run... i get it up to 300+, i dont have a recording at that speed here, maybe 270... i have no means to record right now, i did have one file...

i think picking 3 notes per string would be somewhat more difficult at those speeds... also, my forarm does move when i pick, the motion comes from the wrist, but the forarm has no chance of not moving...

the exercise i run has a potential of 350 bpm 16ths i believe, i have only managed up to 320 CLEAN and with accuracy, for long periods of time...

overall, the staccatto sound really annoys me, i like shawn's phrasing and smoothness alot... less pick strokes...
