yeah I might be wrong, but to me it looks like he is using forearm motion but only for the really fast alternate picking lines. Most of his other stuff is a combination of legato and picking and hammer-ons from no-where so he can use wrist motion with ease. I am yet to see a guy pick as quickly as shawn using alternate picking(especially on a single string i.e tremelo picking) using wrist motion it is practically impossible!!

anyone here in the forum that can pick close to shawns speed using wrist-only motion? I'd be suprised if there is!!
I can get close for short bursts(around 18 notes a sec) but definately not with wrist-only movement!!
