Raja pauses a moment as the young riders put the finishing touches on their gear, then continues.

"Now, we will begin. Everyone, mount up, and don't forget to strap yourselves in. Have your dragons do those excercises again, except this time, they must hold their wings like this." she takes a running start, then vaults to Kiir's back, smoothly settling into the riding gear placed strategically between the great gold's neck ridges. Strapping herself in, she directs the dragon to demonstrate.

Kyrath obliges, opening gleaming wings and stroking the air with them, stirring up miniature dust-storms from the rock. As she works the muscles, she slowly begins to rise, soon hovering about two dragonlengths above the weyrling's astonished heads. Raja calls down from the height "Now you. It may take a while to build up your dragon's strength, but as soon as you can hover this high, we will move on."

The gold backwings gently, coming to a rest upon the rock. Raja stays a-dragonback, both ready to help if the fledgelings need it.
