I remember that day more clear than any other day. I was at work, I had open the store, I work for Starbucks Coffee. Despite what went on the week of the attacks please don't bad mouth us. I was helping a customer at the time of the attacks shortly after I was wiping down tables, and my customer had told me that a plane had crashed into the first tower and I remember thinking yeah right why on earth would someone do something like that??? And feel bad saying this but I just kind of brushed it off thing it was a bad joke, until my best friend ran out of the back room and told me exactly what my customer had told me. I broke down on the verge of tears. My best friend and my manager were freaking out. My best friend had family in Manhatten and was scared, My manager lived right in the area. Out of instinct I ran home and grabbed my little tv and brought it back to the store we turn the lights out and watched the news. Then around 3 o'clock we had received a phone call from our disrtrict manager, whom receive a call from corporate hq saying we were to close our doors for us to spend time with our friends and family. I remember crying a lot. Starbucks within a week or so placed cards in our tip jars to raise money to help we all as a company chipped in from our income to help those. That which gave me a sense of relief to an extent.
