Subject: 99 MustangGT missfire cyl#3 - 4.6L-2V

It started with the blinking MIL. Pulled codes and Freeze data. Misfire on cyl#3 at ~4200rpm, load:100%, ECT:~200, STFT were 12%. Cant remember what other data I got but nothing unusual to me, but Im not a mechanic. :)

Steps I've taken:
o Swapped COP and injector to other cylinders. No help.
o Looked over spark plug. Looks good to me?
o Light exam on wire harness to look for rub marks or other marks. Nothing.

What should I do next?

Other problems with the engine include rough idle. Im going to block off the EGR system tonight at the intake to make sure there is no leak causing the idle problem. Could a faulty EGR introduce too much exaust gas at WOT and cause this misfire? When engine is misfiring at WOT it will continue to do so until I let off the throttle to at least half.

I've also had the heads off and welded to cure two cracks in value seats a couple of months ago. One was leaking coolant and the other was found at the machine shop.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Jason.
