You were correct in spraying the intake with carb cleaner. Sounds like you do have a vacuum leak. I have seen both upper and lowers leak. A vacuum leak will give you a lean condition because the air is not being metered thru the mass air flow meter. I would r&r the upper and the lowers unhook the battery for 15 minutes to reset the keep alive memory in the pcm so the pcm can relearn and road test.
