Hello Bobby;

If you look a few threads down to your original post dated 2/21/04, I tried to provide assistance, but you were reluctant to short the two pins on the service connector to access the stored fault codes.

Give it a try and see if you have any fault codes stored.

Good luck...

HERE WAS MY ORIGINAL POST:

You have 2 computers on board. The ECU (Electronic Control Unit) and the A/T Control Unit which mainly functions to control the automatic transmission.

If either senses a fault, they will store a Fault Code, and cause a light to blink on the dash to let you know there is a problem. The ECU will cause the check engine light to blink and the A/T CU will cause the ("S" light to blink on my 90 Accord), but I think other models will indicate on the D4 light.

If you short the service connector, any stored codes will be displayed for you on the dash. The respective lights will blink out a series of short and long blinks. Long blinks are 10 and short blinks are 1. (One long blink and 4 short blinks would be fault code 14.)

The service connector is blue, and hanging loose in the passenger-side floorboard. It might be in the upper corner behind the plastic kick panel. Once you find it, use a paperclip to short the 2 pins together. Then turn the key until the dash lights come on , but don't start the car. Count the flashes to determine the fault codes and post them back here on the forum.

It seems strange to me that a problem detected by the A/T Control Unit would cause the car not to start???

Regardless...if you can provide any fault codes it would help.

AND THIS WAS YOUR RESPONSE...

I have no clue what u have sent me.. I really dont know how to look at what flashes and be able to read the blinks....Looking at the plug doesnt look safe to stick a pin in both sides.. Thats an electric current running threw that..I dont want to blow anything out... All i know is that the D4 light blinks after i run the car for 15 minutes then I turn if off and then try to turn it back on....Letting it sit for 10 minutes to cool down, it doesnt blink and the car starts with no blinking.....Sometimes if i catch it in time i can get the car to start with the blinking but when i go to put it in drive it doesnt want to move...reverse worked... But like i said when it blinks theres just a constant blink no 3 or 4 blinks.. I dont know what to do? The transmission checked out fine the engine checked out fine... No clue to wether its worth keeping this car..
