If it's blowing warm air, the a/c ain't working. That just means the blower motor is working. First thing you need to do is find out whether your problem is refrigerant loss, a bad compressor, a bad condensor, a bad evaporator or what. And if the refrigerant is low, you need to find the leak. Unless you have some experience with this and a lot of free time, I'm thinking you should find a trustworthy mechanic.

I would not recommend making an R12 to R134 conversion under the shade tree. Aside from it being a big no-no with the EPA to vent R12 to the atmosphere, and no matter what AutoZone packaging may infer, without the proper tools and knowledge, you could do some serious (i.e., even more expensive) damage.

And I know this must be the 3rd or 4th time this month I've mentioned refrigerant blends in lieu of total R134 conversions. Am I the only one here whose ever heard of this? R134 isn't as efficient as R12 to start with.
