Hi Karen;

I just finished replacing the rear taillights on my daughter's Accord with Red/Clear Euro lights, so I have some additional info...

DEFINITELY do not attempt to remove the Trunk Lid taillights unless you have to. They are more difficult to remove. They have 4 nuts on the outboard side and one self-locking plastic retainer on the inboard side, which is difficult to release. It is covered by sheet metal and I had to use a long pair of pliers to compress the retainer and release it. As a note...if you do remove them, you do not have to do anything with the trunk key lock. The light has a hole that fits around the key lock.

As for the outside (body) taillights...

When you remove the plastic access cover in the trunk, there is one nut on the top/inboard mounting screw that must be removed first, in order to pull the plastic trim out of the way.

The plastic cable holder may have tape wrapped around it. You may be able to pull it off the stud by putting a screwdriver blade under it, and prying it up. If not, remove the tape and release the flap to remove the cable and unscrew it from the stud. If you push on the hinge-side of the flap with your thumb, while lifting the opposite side, it is easier to release.

To release the electrical connector, there is a small tab to depress on one of the long sides in the middle, where the connectors mate.

That's about it...Good luck...

Mike
