I found too that the thing that got me through the first year was constantly reminding myself that home school is NOT public school. We do not need to have 52 minute classes for each subject. Its okay for math to be a 2 hour game marathon one day and to (gasp) skip math for 2 or 3 days. I had to teach myself how to examine little everyday things and see what their learning potential was (usually more value than any book can teach). Try to realize also that what makes homeschooling so exciting is see your kids learn how to learn which is in my humble opinion the greatest gift you can give them! Above all...have fun!!!! You already have tenure so don't sweat the small stuff! A book I recommend is The Everything Homeschooling Book by Sherri Linsenbach. Enjoy!!
