You can ask Seril, because he would probably know more than I would, but I think the Green Lantern is almost like an office or something, it can be passed on to different people. The Green Lantern gets his power from a ring, I think.

Thanks, Mon, but it now says at the end of that story that NB is NOT in any official talks with anyone about playing Green Lantern. It sounds like it was prolly an off-the-cuff remark NB made to some fans. Maybe he wants it and his agent is working on scoring him a read or an audition. In any case, I thought it was interesting that they felt the need to come back and clarify with the new statement (i copied and pasted it below.)
UPDATE: We have learned, from a source close to Nicholas Brendon, that the actor is NOT in talks with anyone to make or be in a film about the Green Lantern.
It's weird that this has happened for the second time concerning NB, though. I remember when fan sites were abuzz that NB was in talks to do Spider-Man. Then I read in Variety a few weeks later in a story about casting rumors that NB never met with any of Spider-man's producers and was never up for the role. It just goes to show, I guess, how casual remarks can get rumors started.
I think it would be cool to see NB in a superhero role, though. And I've still got my eye out for Pinata or Demon Island or whatever it's called now. :)

Maybe at the time AICN saw it and posted the link Superherohype hadn't posted the update yet. I don't know. But yeah, it looks weird. By the time you actually see the article AICN is talking about you go thru 3-4 pages where they're talking about NB being up for Green Lantern like it's official and then when you finally get to the article itself, it says at the very end: Update: We have just learned this is not true.
Well then take the story down or change the headline!!!! Sheesh!
