However I don't think this sounds like Xander's going to go wave a fist full of Benjamin's in front of Anya's face and go "look at this I got money honey". I'm guessing that he would be using this wealth to a more romantic purpose. Not that I think buying things for a girl should be the only thing in a relationship. but I just don't see Xander as doing this simply to appeal to Anya's capitalistic obsession, but rather they are saying Xander is doing everything in his power to get her back, and that his power has just jumped a little because of some financial windfall.
But then its a very short blurb and once again I'm stuck with a patheticly lack luster spoiler that seems to see Xander as only being there to affect Anya and to some how make up for the Wedding Debacle. Good god writers something else. And Fast.

I never said he'd be waving money in her face. I think I read the spoiler the same way you did. Xander will try to use his success and newfound wealth to help him win Anya back—as part of his efforts in general to win Anya back. And I don't think it's gonna work.

Because I don't want him back with Anya however I do want him to not look like an ass. I know he has fucked up (just like everyone did last season) but thats in the past. I would prefer he takes the high road. However I want that high road not to include Anya, I want it to be over between them.

And essentially I agree I don't think they will get back together, but I don't think it will simply because she doesn't appreciate Xander's efforts or because she finds them patronizing. I think its possible the things he does for her will be very sweet, something along the lines of Cordy's Prom Dress (Come on how is that not the best thing a guy could do in that situation). I'm guessing there is no painless way to come to an "its over" solution between the two. However I would prefer it to not just be Anya refusing to even talk to him (Cordy in Lover's Walk). I'm hoping for something a little more evenly distributed. Come on she did try to kill him. And she is the one who went out Sleeping with someone else. The only thing Xander did was realize that he didn't want to hurt her. So I don't think Xander is really the only one who should be groveling to get her back. (even though I don't want her to come back). I think if anything she should be the one begging him to take her back now. But thats my opinion and I"m prolly right ;)

I'm not following your train of thought at all on this one, because I don't feel that protective of Xander. I don't see him as a victim. And I don't see Anya as a victim either--you know that I have not harped on Xander as much as a lot of other people have for chickening out at the altar.

I love both Xander and Anya and I am not going to choose between them. And I am going to stand up for Anya because a lot of people don't giver her credit for appreciating Xander. Oddly enough, many of these people with such disdain for Anya would rather see Xander with Buffy, who has never appreciated him half as much. Go figure.

but yeah your right, Buffy has never appreciated Xander as much as Willow or Cordy or Anya, hell even Faith saw his "attributes" but I think thats part of being a BXer, we want Buffy to finally wake up and realize what Xander is and what he has done for her. Fuck if she'd just pay attention for him for more than 2 seconds. This is actually a big part of what drives my BXeyness. Its how I see Xander getting his props.

Honestly, Churchy, I don't know how you could expect me to respond to that. That gets a big "whatever" from me, because I don't watch the show with any particular agenda in mind. And you know I am not on the "pity poor underappreciated Xander" train.

But if that's what you get out of the show and your B/X aspirations, good for you. Fight the good fight. Start the revolution, brother.

I'll be in my private grotto if anyone needs me.
