I wrote up a rant the other day and had trouble posting it. However the sentiment still remains. Spike and Xander Buddy Buddy stuff might have been humorous at the end of season 5. Prior to that they were simply annoyed with one another. Too much has happened between them for things to just be water under the bridge. I'm sorry but no. I could see them being forced to work together, but forcing them to be buddies again. Thats not going to work for me. For Spike, well Xander tried to kill him the last time they were in eachother's presence and the last thing Xander knows of Spike doing is to attempt to rape Buffy. This is too much harsh shit for them to just get back together and be the odd couple. odd couple insinuates annoyance with eachother. They have moved to full blown hatred. Not gonna be funny just going to be violent.


As for Glory's suggestion of a Spike Xander Buddy fic. I can't think of any that are specifically set up for them to be friends, though I know some that have them getting along. I think. *thinking hard* K they might not be exactly what your hoping for.



I'm just voicing my opinion of this possibility, I do not mean any foul attitude being directed at Phaedra, or Glory. This is just what I think of this happening.

The only real possibility I see is something along the lines of 20,00 leagues beneath the sea. When Ned Land (Kirk Douglas) saves Captain Nemo (James Mason) from the giant squid. And when he comes back in Nemo says. "You saved me. Why?" and Ned goes. "I Don't know". (yeah I know the whole O&FA scene, but I'm talking about after the dislike became extreme hatred) This is the kind of scene I can see Spike and Xander performing. And as of right now I can see it going either way but it would fit more in my mind as odd for Xander to be the one to save Spike. Because I believe that while Spike isn't fond of Xander he doesn't really care enough for him to hate him, while Xander obviously hates Spike *#Cough*&#withgoodreason*#@&Cough*#@.

The best I think we can hope for is if Spike comes back and doesn't become total evil, then I could see them putting aside their differences to protect either Buffy or Dawn. Thats about it.
