Some like normal tension, some like low, some like high. Most classical guitar players that I know use either normal or high tension (it's about 50-50 among the dozen or so that I know personally). Of the 3 flamenco players I know, 2 use low tension strings and 1 uses normal tension strings. Some teachers recommend low tension for beginners and some don't. I personally prefer normal tension strings and use D'Addario "Pro Arte" EJ45 strings. After much experimentation, I've found that these strings give me the tones that I like best--bell like trebles and mellow bass--on MY guitar (a Lucida Artista "Concerto"). Each guitar is different and how strings sound on it will be different. So try different strings until you find ones give you the tone that you like.
