Subject: Chicago Jaguars

During the summer towards the end of July going into August, the 15 & under girls AAU basketball tournament for nationals has been going on, with about 50 colleges having their eye on a couple of players or so. The Chicago Jaguars who had currently won super regionals and who had placed third in the state proudly represented Chicago IL. But as the tournament started the Jaguars were not playing their game they were playing as if they had never played together before. This was their first year down at nationals so it would make sense that this would happen to a team but not only that but the Chicago Jaguars are also a young team at that with a majority being freshmen going into their sophomore year.
The Jaguars did not win any of their games but this did not mean they didn’t play well in fact if they would have played like they did at the Easter Classic or even how they played in regional’s these young ladies very well had a chance at the title for the nation champs. The Jaguars coached by fall of fame Marty Murry did not seem to have a connection with their coach as they did in the recent tournaments they had played in. It seemed like the Chicago Jaguars had lost their flam right before nationals.
Now through the tournament don’t get me wrong there were girls on the team that did show a passion for the game and had made an impression on the college scouts such as Melissa Thompson, Stephanie Cooper, Jasmine Stackhouse, Jalissa Olive, Catie Kopko, and Dominique White. Although Jalissa Olive and Dominique White were only incoming sophomores they played their hearts out in the games and showed their passion at a young age which was not hard to see in this team seeing they followed the older girls on the team that showed the same passion such as Melissa Thompson and Catie Kopko. By my research of the Chicago Jaguars and finding out facts on the players on the team these 6 players I would have to say were the best on the team and carried their team to nationals without a doubt. And doing my research I have also seen that these 6 girls were the ones that the team was known for and why colleges had come to watch their games. The colleges that I know have been looking at people on this team are Iona College looking at Catie Kopko and also looking at her St Johns, Toledo, and Notre Dame, and for Melissa Thompson, Stephanie Cooper, and Jasmine Stackhouse Illinois is defiantly interested in these fantastic ball players. And for a fact be sure to keep your eyes on Dominique White and Jalissa Olive because even thought they are young and only sophomores we are expecting great things from them and in my eyes I would have to say that they are indeed 2 of the best points guards in the state.
From my research it’s come up that this past weekend Oct.13-14 Catie Kopko had visited Iona College which is one the many colleges that are looking at her. She attended the Maroon Madness, while also meeting the Coaching staff. Catie Kopko and her family stated off meeting the coaches and going to the Maroon Madness while the next day Catie and her family attended practice the next morning leading to a tour of the campus. From further research we have also gotten the message that Iona just last Friday had signed two seniors form New York to play from them next year. Iona is a D1 school who plays teams such as Notre Dame, Boston College and Purdue which are Big East schools. Also we know that Iona is only looking at 5 people throughout the nation with Catie Kopko being one of them who Iona is going to offer a full scholarship to with only allowing 4 to be given out for the class of 2008.

Are you really serious, the chicago jaguars girl team is a joke the boy are great but they girls are a joke. the only reason you all made it down to nationals is because you bought your way sown there, and the only serious ballers on your team that might go to a D1 school is Mellissa thompson, Dominique White, and Jealisa Olive the CPS knows her as Elmo, but seriously you all have 3 good players if you ask me Catie wrote that post her self because she is the only person in the world who thinks shes really going to a D1 school, look your a white girl that thinks your black and u really play like a white girl because all you do is satnd around and shoot but like i said you all have 3 good players to me and even your 3 good players need work, Mellissa is a good down low but she need to become a gaurd i've seen her over the summer wit hope and she was killin and Dominique has way to many turn overs for a PG she needs to stick to the basic and and so simple passes and Elmo is just a street ball player i guess she get that for Bogan but she needs to become a team player but over all you guys are as good as CATIE or one of her best friends just made it seem
