Subject: How Is It...
In reply to: Chuck in ND 's message, "Interesting Gallup Poll" on 17:17:29 02/26/07 Mon

How is it that everybody is completely missing the point of modern-day revelation??? We don't have a Prophet to tell us what to do... He receives revelations regarding the "CHURCH" and he holds ALL of the keys. That is his duty, it has nothing to do with telling us which wars to support and which to NOT support. We can all be prophets and prophetesses! If we're not, something is terribly wrong. (If I'm the example than yes, something is terribly wrong. LOL)

If The United States were to suddenly attack Australia, the Prophet would speak on it in the same way and say the same things he said regarding "The War in Iraq". He wasn't telling ANYONE to support or to not support. No one can tell you that except the Lord.

I think a good majority of the church does not understand how the Prophet, Seer, and Revelator stuff works. (I'm not saying you'nz here don't understand, just that we twist the words of our prophets to support our own opinions.) It's very interesting to study. Unless the Prophet says to THE CHURCH, "We must all support the war", then he has no authority on the subject, besides over himself and his family. Even then, there is plenty of room for individual opinions and actions. That doesn't mean you shouldn't work to make it legal, Constitutional, etc...

Here's a good example... If you search (you'll have to go pretty deep) to find references to R-rated movies, you'll find a few. You'll even find recommendations to stay away from them. But, you're more likely to search and find references to obstaining from sex, nudity, explicit language, graphic, excessive violence, etc... Many believe that it's a SIN to watch an R-rated movie. If that's true, then how come there are a few "R" movies (Admittedly, not a whole lot) where I feel a very strong presence of the spirit? Now, maybe some won't feel the spirit with these movies and some will feel it with "worse" movies... That's none of my business! The Prophets make a good recommendation... to try and avoid harsh violence, language, nudity, etc... and perhaps even "R-rated" movies. It doesn't change the fact that we should all be prophets over our OWN lives and families. Their authority does not spill over into whether or not you should or shouldn't feel the spirit.
